FAQs
What is solar power?
Solar power is the conversion of light energy emitted by the sun into electricity via the use of photovoltaic cells.
Why should I go solar?
With solar power, you will not only be guaranteed a much cheaper and completely uninterrupted supply of electricity but can also indulge in the process of net metering where you can sell any excess power produced to WAPDA.
How will I know if solar is suitable for my house?
To get a general idea of whether solar power systems are suitable for your house inspect your roof. If it is mostly flat, free of shadows from surrounding buildings and trees, and receives good exposure to sunlight then it is likely to be suitable for solar.
What is Net Metering?
Net metering is a billing mechanism by which you can meter any excess power produced to your local distribution company to receive credit. Your monthly bill will thus only consist of your ‘net’ energy use, resulting in cost savings. The good news is, if you are using fewer units than energy generated using Solar Panels, you can earn money on selling it to your local energy provider (i.e WAPDA)
Which Solar Panels are best to use?
LONGi Solar Panels are world-leading manufacturers who provide our customers with the best mono-perc crystalline solar panels. LONGi supplies more than 30GW of high-efficiency solar system worldwide annually. They invest 7% of their revenue into R&D and offer economies of scale. Due to being an established company, stock levels are always good, bankruptcy is unlikely and the panels have low levels of degradation as compared to other solar solutions.
Does solar power work well in winters?
A common myth states that the arrival of winters stops the work of solar panels. However, in reality, solar panels actually work exceedingly well during winters as low temperatures actually help to increase the efficiency of the panels.
Do solar panels work in cloudy weather?
We have partnered with LONGI to provide our customers with the best mono-perc crystalline solar panels whose technology allows them to work fine in low light and overcast conditions. In Pakistan especially you need not worry about cloudy weather as we experience some of the highest levels of solar irradiation in the world, with over 300 sunny days in a year.
How much area do I require for the installation of solar panels?
To make it simple we can say a minimum of 100 square feet is required for every Kilowatt of installation or you can calculate the approximated size of the solar system that is installed on your rooftop by using this formula.
Size of solar system = Panels Rated Output * (Rooftop Area / Each Panel Area) * 70 %
How does solar work with UPS and generators?
Working in accordance with UPS/Generators the solar systems installed provide most of the power load required, limiting their use to a minimum.
Can I use my Existing UPS batteries along with the Solar system?
Yes, utilizing the existing UPS batteries is possible, however, it will depend on the condition of your batteries. Our engineer can conduct an analysis and make recommendations.
Which invertors do you use with your solar panels?
At Instaenergy, we use Growatt and Goodwe invertors. Our invertors use new energy technology offering the most affordable and high-efficiency photovoltaic and storage solutions.
Can I ask my electrician to install the system?
We highly recommend against this practice as one should only trust a qualified professional to install a solar power system. Thus, we have partnered with Transfopower to ensure the regulated installation of your system to avoid any big losses and dangers.
How many solar panels do I need to install a solar system?
The size and quantity of the solar panels required differ for each customer, depending on a number of different factors, and hence to receive a comprehensive estimate of the quantity please contact us at +92 51 8436378 to set up an appointment with a representative.
How much time does it take to install the Solar Panels?
Approximately, it takes 2 days for our engineers to install Solar Panels.
Can I use my AC as a heater while using Solar?
Yes, you can plug your inverter AC into Solar. Your solar system will power up your ACs to give warmth in the winters.
How does Net-metering work?
By net metering, you can meter any excess power produced to your local distribution company to receive credit. Your monthly bill will thus only consist of your ‘net’ energy use, resulting in cost savings. Net-metering can only be used using a three-phase meter.
Can I get rid of load-shedding with solar?
Yes, our hybrid solar PV systems are designed to do exactly that. They work to provide you with an uninterrupted supply of electricity in case of power shortages.
Can I avoid gas shortage using Solar?
Yes, the gas shortage has become a major problem in winters. Our solar panels provide uninterrupted gas supply during the gas shortage time periods. Another huge perk of going solar!
When should I go for an On-grid solar power solution?
You should choose an on-grid solar power solution if you want a payback of your solar investment in nearly 4 years’ time and reduced bills for the next 20 years. Additionally, if you want to generate more power for your home and sell surplus produced electricity to the grid to earn extra tariff benefits.
When should I go for a Hybrid Solar system?
The hybrid solar energy system switches automatically to the battery storage when the grid is down and vice versa without requiring any human intervention. The hybrid inverters are designed to draw power from the solar panels first and later from the grid.
How long do solar power systems last?
We provide 10 years product warranty and 25 years performance warranty and proper operation and management can further extend its useful life.
